The McIntosh House By Richard Neutra

Received an email this morning from the daughter of Harrison McIntosh on a article in the Los Angeles Times regarding her grandparent's house that was built by architect Richard Neutra in 1939. Mr. McIntosh has told me stories about how this house was built. I always wondered what the house looked like and here it is. For the full article click HERE

Local Claremont Woodworker Don Breyer

Don Breyer has had a life-long relationship with wood. For 34 years he taught engineering at Cal Poly Pomona where he specialized in wood structures. He is the principal author of DESIGN OF WOOD STRUCTURES, McGraw-Hill. Now in it's 6th edition it is a nationally recognized college text and reference for professional engineers.

Since retiring, his relationship with wood continues but in a much different way. Now he creates one of a kind pieces of fine woodworking including boxes, jewelry cabinets and furniture. Several years ago he took "best of show" in a woodworking competition at the Ontario Convention Center. Below is a slideshow of some examples of his work, just click on the play button. Excellent quality and craftsmanship. For more information about his work you can email him by clicking: here
